Southern Taco Soup (similar to chili beans)

This is one of our favorite recipes. It's quick to mix up and is filling. The boys go wild for this dish.

Brown one pound of ground beef in the skillet on top of the stove. Pour off the extra grease.

Put the meat into a large cooking pot and add:

1 pack of taco season mix (the little envelop types)
1 pack of ranch dressing season (do not make dressing with it — just put the season in)

Now add the standard size (14 oz size or close) of the following:

2 cans of crushed tomatoes
2 cans red kidney beans
2 cans hominy (or corn)

Cook on medium heat. It is ready to eat as soon as it is warm, but you can turn it down and leave it simmering. Taco Soup can also be mixed up in the crock pot and left on low all day.

When you're ready to serve, put nacho chips in bowls, spoon on the Taco Soup and top with shredded cheese.

Leftovers freeze and reheat well.
